I am a clinical psychologist offering psychotherapy, assessment, and consultation to individuals and groups, via in-person and virtual options. My hope is that our work together will help you move through the world differently — with kinder self-understanding and deeper, more connected relationships.
Throughout our lives, we learn strategies for managing complex dynamics. These strategies may include people-pleasing, compliance, perfectionism, achievement, or other ways of coping. They may have allowed you to maintain connection to a parent or another important person in your life. Negative self-talk, withdrawal, and compulsive spending are other ways you may have managed difficult or even scary emotions.
In our work together, we will identify the strategies that helped you in the past, but are constraining or problematic now. We will also develop new ways of living that offer more freedom, authenticity, and meaning.
My approach is guided by relational eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and psychodynamic therapy. I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness techniques to help my clients.
